Daf-I-Dale's Filthy Rich TD

Tracking Dog Title
Two Rivers Agility Club Tracking Test
February 20, 2005
Judge Suzanne Schwabb, Tracklayer Billie Robbins, Judge Pat Beauchamp
We drew the first track of the day and started at 7:18 a.m. Conditions were very wet as we have had a lot of rain in the last week. Richie started nicely. Our first turn was in standing water! He managed the turn but it shook his confidence a little and he wasn't quite as strong as the start. The second turn went well but he veered off the track about 30 yards past the second turn and *ran* to something approximately 20 feet from the track. He began to ROLL IN IT!!! I got him back and tried to re-focus him by giving him some water (yeah - like he needed more water). He went again to the rolling area and I checked - a gross dead bird. I backed up to the track and tried to re-focus him again. The third time he tried to go, I restrained him. That's the reason he's called Filthy, I guess.
The third turn went well but he had a bad case of puppy brain farts on this leg. It seemed as if it took an hour but was only about five minutes. He would start out, whine, come back to me, jump up on me and wasn't confident at all. This was a heart stopping time and I kept thinking we would get failed for not working. I kept my mouth shut and eventually he went back to work. The last leg and the longest he tracked confidently until the glove.
Here we are at the end of the track
